All players had a wonderful time sampling the French food & wine and then
being given a chance to work it all off on the squash court.
One of the players had come from Norway to be at Les Granges for the
weekend. He had endured a 10 hour coach trip from Trondheim to Oslo to
then wait 4 hours to get a flight to Stansted. Once at Stansted he then
had another flight to La Rochelle.
I thought it only fair after this epic journey that I should drive to the
airport to pick him up. There was only one winner of the “most effort to
get to the tournament “prize. Long may he enjoy his blister pack of 3
Dunlop squash balls (one for every 6 hours of travel!!) His flight from
Oslo back to his home town of Trondheim was a mere £200 (he would have
paid anything not to have returned on the coach).
We would all like to thank David and Jane Barnes for hospitality above and
beyond the call of duty. We are looking to run another tournament in 2007
to coincide with the European championships in La Rochelle in June.
Regards

Oui,
raquettes....
